Photo of the Day ~ Life Is Glorious

Each Dawn Shouts to Us

That Life Goes On

And Asks Us to Join the Parade

Inspiring Quote of the Day ~ Love is All

“Seize the moments of happiness, love and be loved! That is the only reality in the world, all else is folly.”

~ Leo Tolstoy

Positive Thought of the Day ~ Dream Big Dreams

“It is better to have dreamed a thousand dreams that never were than never to have dreamed at all.” ~ Alexander Pushkin

NOTE: Dream, Dream, and Dream some more. Keep dreaming. Make your dreams big, bold, bodacious dreams. Let your dreams pull you into tomorrow. If one dreams fails, take on another and another. One day you’ll be happy you did and you’ll soar higher and higher.

Joke of The Day

Joe: “When I was a kind, I asked my mom if I’d see Gramps when I died.”

Pete: “What did your mom say?”

Joe: “She said, “Not if your good.”

Poem of the Day ~ [since feeling is first]

[since feeling is first]

e. e. cummings

since feeling is first
who pays any attention
to the syntax of things
will never wholly kiss you;

wholly to be a fool
while Spring is in the world

my blood approves,
and kisses are a better fate
than wisdom
lady i swear by all flowers. Don’t cry
—the best gesture of my brain is less than
your eyelids’ flutter which says

we are for each other: then
laugh, leaning back in my arms
for life’s not a paragraph

And death i think is no parenthesis

Feeling Good Tip of the Day ~ Boost Your Self Esteem

Treat Yourself the Same as You Would Treat a Valued Friend

The best way to improve your self-esteem is to treat yourself as you’d treat a valued friend, in a positive but honest way. Notice when you’re putting yourself down, such as thinking, “You’re so stupid for not getting that job”, and instead think, “Would I say that to my best friend?”. You probably wouldn’t. Tell yourself something positive instead, such as: “You’re a bright person, you’ll get the next job”

NOTE: If you don’t love yourself how will you be able to love others? Is it time to forgive yourself for not being perfect? Is it time to release the expectations others have for you and grab hold of the expectations  you hold in your heart? Is it time to let go of past wrongs and hurts and let the scars heal? Love yourself and you’ll find how much easier it is to love others.

Health Tip of the Day ~ Add Sit to Stand Exercise to Your Daily Routine

5 Reasons You Should be Doing Sit to Stand Exercises

Sit to stand exercises, which involve transitioning from a seated position to a standing position, are important to incorporate into your workout routine for several reasons:

    1. Improve Functional Mobility: Sit to stand exercises mimic movements that are commonly used in daily life. As we age, maintaining functional mobility becomes increasingly important, and sit to stand exercises help improve your ability to get up from a chair or other seated position.
    2. Strengthen Lower Body Muscles: Sit to stand exercises primarily target the muscles of the lower body, including the quadriceps, hamstrings, glutes, and calves. By incorporating these exercises into your routine, you can strengthen these muscles, which can help improve balance, stability, and overall lower body strength.
    3. Burn Calories: Because sit to stand exercises involve a full range of motion and use multiple muscle groups, they can be a great way to burn calories and get your heart rate up. Incorporating sit to stand exercises into your workout routine can help you achieve your weight loss or maintenance goals.
    4. Improve Posture: Proper form is key when performing sit to stand exercises. Engaging your core, keeping your shoulders back, and maintaining a neutral spine can help improve your posture over time.
    5. Reduce Risk of Falls: Falls are a common and serious concern for older adults. By improving lower body strength, functional mobility, and balance, sit to stand exercises can help reduce the risk of falls and improve overall safety and quality of life.

Feeling Good Tip of the Day ~ Go After the Day with Excitement & Enthusiasm

Each Day Go All In – It’s The Only Day We’ve Got

Going out into the world with positive anticipation of good things that may happen goes a long way toward recognizing the positive things big and small that transpire throughout your day. If you look for the positive, you’re more likely to find it. This compensates for a common phenomenon of the negative sticking in our memories at the end of the day. Recalling a few positive moments to balance the unpleasant ones helps one to sustain one’s excitement and enthusiasm for the next day, and the next.

NOTE: Our bodies follow our mind. When we wake up and put enthusiasm into our mind, our bodies will follow. The converse also applies. It’s a reasons why positive and optimistic self talk first thing in the morning is so important. It’s much better to say, “I feel great” and “I’m going have a great day” instead of, “I’m dragging” or “I don’t feel up to up.” You’ll get what you feed into your mind.

Power Thought of the Day ~ Rise Each Time You Fall

“We’ve got to live, no matter how many skies have fallen.” D. H. Lawrence

NOTE: Life is going to go on with or without us. We’re going to take hits and get knocked down. If we have the courage to rise each time we’re knocked down, we’ll become stronger, more resilient, and develop a tenaciousness that will see us through the toughest times. Rise each time you fall. You’re stronger than you realize.
