Feel Good Tip for Today ~ Iced Tea on a Hot Day

A quintessential refreshing drink on a hot day in south Texas is a large (and I mean Texas sized large) glass of iced tea. Close the laptop, put the smart phone on silent, pour yourself a large glass of cold iced tea. Take it outside, sit down, and let the world pass by for twenty minutes. Enjoy every savory moment. You’ll go back to whatever it was you were working on and being refreshed. Cheers. pardner!

Positive Thought for Today ~ Mirror Love and Kindness

When we lift the shade or open the binds light shines into our homes. It’s the same way when we open our hearts and minds to the light of truth, kindness, and love we become a mirror and reflect truth, kindness, and love to all who come our way.

Feel Good Tip for Today ~ Our Name is Our Identity

I don’t get it. Two people start talking and neither one asks the other his/her name. Our names are our identity. Our name is the tag given to us at birth. When someone says to me, “Hi, Ray, how’s it going?” I know this person is interested in me. One direct and easy way to overcome the loneliness and isolation we face in an increasing digital world is to take the first step and introduce ourselves to others who are in our social sphere. My formula is simple, “I see you often, my name is Ray, what’s yours?” Do it with a smile. You’ll make a new friend. You’ll have broken down a wall.

Photo of the Day ~ Act Courageously

We all have challenges

When we take the challenges on

We act courageously

We tell ourselves

Nothing can stop us.

Victory is ours!

Health Tip for Today ~ Want to Live Longer?

Low Fat Diets Reduce All-Cause Mortality

A recent study involving 371,159 middle-aged and older adults found eating a low-fat diet reduced all-cause mortality by 18%. The study, published in the Journal of Internal Medicine, also found that eating a healthful, low-carbohydrate diet only marginally reduced mortality risks, while substituting low-quality carbohydrates with plant-based proteins and foods containing unsaturated fats resulted in a significant reduction in risk of mortality.
