There is an ongoing battle between light and darkness. The two cannot coexist. The darkness draws us into anger and rage and minimizing people who are different from us. The light draws us toward respect, compassion, and cooperation. The darkness asks us to fear others because they are different. It builds false images and speaks of them as a reality. The light sees things as they are drawing people together to make a difference. Although, at times darkness seems to prevail, in the end, historically, light always triumphs over darkness.

Health Facts: Reduce Your Risk of Osteoporosis and Fractures
Here are two little-known but important health facts about bone density:
1. Impact of Diet on Bone Density Beyond Calcium and Vitamin D:
While calcium and vitamin D are well-known for their roles in maintaining bone density, other nutrients are equally important but often overlooked. Magnesium, potassium, and vitamin K play crucial roles in bone health. Magnesium helps with calcium absorption, potassium neutralizes bone-depleting metabolic acids, and vitamin K aids in bone mineralization. A diet rich in fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, and whole grains can significantly contribute to better bone density.
2. The Role of Physical Activity in Building Bone Density:
Weight-bearing exercises, such as walking, running, and resistance training, are essential for maintaining and improving bone density. However, it’s less known that high-impact activities, like jumping and plyometrics, can be particularly effective in stimulating bone growth. These activities create mechanical stress on the bones, which prompts the body to increase bone density. Even brief but intense bouts of high-impact exercises can have a positive effect on bone health.
Focusing on a nutrient-rich diet and incorporating varied physical activities can help maintain and improve bone density, reducing the risk of osteoporosis and fractures.

Today’s Anagram:
Today’s Thought: What Gets You Up in the Morning?
Who and what are you working for? I’m competitive and I enjoyed being successful. Being successful was not my main life’s goal.. I was working to take of my family, my wife and five daughters. The girls came so fast I often referred to them as the Cape Kennedy countdown. LOL I wouldn’t trade a moment of their growing up. That’s what got me up each day. That’s what fueled my desire to be successful. I wanted to provide for them and I wanted to be an example for them. It was always about family for me. Although the girls are all on their own and Babe, my wife, passed on, for me, it’s still all about family. What is it that gets you up? Who and what are you working for?
Today’s Quote: Dream On!
Every great dream begins with a dreamer. ~Harriet Tubman
Today’s Poem: Love Sonnet XVII by Pablo Neruda
Love Sonnet XVII
Pablo Neruda
I do not love you as if you were a salt rose, or topaz
or the arrow of carnations the fire shoots off.
I love you as certain dark things are to be loved,
in secret, between the shadow and the soul.
I love you as the plant that never blooms
but carries in itself the light of hidden flowers;
thanks to your love a certain solid fragrance,
risen from the earth, lives darkly in my body.
I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where.
I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride;
So I love you because I know no other way
than this: where I does not exist, nor you,
so close that your hand on my chest is my hand,
so close that your eyes close as I fall asleep.
