Today’s Smile 😃

My friend asked me, “What are your plans for the weekend?”

I said, “I’m going to buy glasses.”

She said, “And then what?”

I replied, “Then I’ll see.”

🤗 Feel Good Hack ~ It’s All it the Smell

If you’re not a fan of citrus, it might be time to change that. A 2005 study in the journal Chemical Senses found the smell of clementines made participants feel ridiculously happy and stimulated, so having one for a snack will give you a cheerful buzz. Plus, eating the fruit can also give you a major dose of vitamin C. It’s a win-win.

Today’s Poem ~ With That Moon Language

With That Moon Language

Hafiz

Admit something:

Everyone you see, you say to them, ‘Love me.’

Of course you do not do this out loud, otherwise
someone would call the cops.

Still, though, think about this, this great pull in us to connect.

Why not become the one who lives with a
full moon in each eye that is
always saying,

with that sweet moon language,
what every other eye in
this world is
dying to
hear?

Today’s Smile 😃

A doctor says to his patient, “I have bad news and worse news”.

“Oh dear, what’s the bad news?” asks the patient.

The doctor replies, “You only have 24 hours to live.”

“That’s terrible”, said the patient. “How can the news possibly be worse?”

The doctor replies, “I’ve been trying to contact you since yesterday.”

Today’s Poem ~ Love’s Reality

Love’s Reality

Coventry Patmore

 I walk.

I trust, with open eyes;

I’ve travelled half my worldly course;

And in the way behind me lies

Much vanity and some remorse;

I’ve lived to feel how pride may part

Spirits, tho’ matched like hand and glove;

I’ve blushed for love’s abode, the heart;

But have not disbelieved in love;

Nor unto love, sole mortal thing

Or worth immortal, done the wrongT

o count it, with the rest that sing,

Unworthy of a serious song;

And love is my reward: for now,

When most of dead’ning time complain,

The myrtle blooms upon my brow,

Its odour quickens all my brain.

🍎 Health Hack: 5 Tips for a Healthy Gut

For Better Gut Health

  1. Eat slower. Chew your food well before swallowing. It may help you swallow less air and better sense when you’re full.
  2. Enjoy smaller meals. Eat in moderation to avoid overfilling your stomach and encourage digestion. A packed stomach may also cause reflux, or your food to come back up.
  3. Set a bedtime for your gut. Try to limit how much you eat after dark. Your GI tract is most active in the morning and daytime.
  4. Manage stress. Learn healthy ways to reduce stress like relaxation breathing, mindfulness, and exercise. Stress makes it harder to digest your food well.
  5. Create a routine. Try to eat around the same times each day. Your GI system may do best on a schedule.

🤗 Feel Good Hack ~ Pretend to be Happy

They say you can fake it until you make it, and the same theory works with happiness. A 2012 study published in Psychological Science found that faking a smile and pretending to be happy when you feel stressed can actually decrease your stress levels, making you more joyful.
