✒️ Writers’ Wisdom ~ Don’t Fear Mistakes

“Don’t be afraid of writing rubbish. It’s very easy to become hypnotized by an empty page or screen. It’s tempting to abandon a half-finished work because you can’t make it perfect. I hereby give you permission to write things that aren’t perfect, make mistakes, try things that don’t work, experiment with styles you’re not used to and generally throw words around. You’ll learn much faster that way.” ~ Frances Hardings

🤗 Feel Good Hack ~ Rx for Good Health: Gratitude

“Gratitude improves psychological health. Gratitude reduces a multitude of toxic emotions, from envy and resentment to frustration and regret. Robert Emmons, a leading gratitude researcher, has conducted multiple studies on the link between gratitude and well-being. His research confirms that gratitude effectively increases happiness and reduces depression.”

🍎 Today’s Health Tip ~ 4th of 5 Better Sleep Tips

Avoid Long Naps

There’s plenty of evidence proving the value of short, 10-minute naps. Longer naps, however, can be problematic–especially if you’re already getting six to eight hours of sleep per night. . . . The sleep that you get in the middle of the day isn’t the sleep you get at night, because it’s not part of a 90- to 120-minute sleep cycle. Limit naps to 10 minutes or power through your midday slump until bedtime.

COVID-19 Is a Bummer – It Can’t Stop Good Things From Happening

Here are a few of the good things I witnessed or experienced today:

A reader, Nick, shared good things he witnessed happening. Awesome, Nick.

  • I had a very similar experience at my local Starbucks. The barista at the drive thru had a hard time putting on her gloves, we both just smiled and had a good chuckling bonding moment together of “we all get it and are in this together”
  • I was grateful they were even open in the first place to be able to get coffee!
  • The gentleman behind the counter, and now “new glass sheild,” at the CVS was very helpful and cheerful as he helped those of us in line figure out how we could ring up our items.
  • Just grateful for people like you Ray who are finding the positive in the little things and making us all feel alittle better.
  • Grateful for Easter Sunday and all its meaning!
  • Peace and blessings.

COVID-19 Is a Bummer – It Can’t Stop Good Things From Happening

Here are a few of the good things I witnessed or experienced today:

  • I went through the Starbucks drive-through window and purchased my coffee for the week. The barista was wearing a mask and gloves and was totally upbeat. Where’s the tip jar!
  • I’m streaming  upbeat, happy music hope the neighbors can’t hear me belting out a few songs. LOL
  • Filled up the bird feeder and twenty minutes later it was busier than Chicago O”Hara during a peak normal time. The birds bring me lots of joy and I am grateful.

What I share are seemingly small and inconsequential things, but they are priceless to me.

Grateful for all the above.

“May God bless you at Easter,

and keep you all year through.

May God give you all the faith you need,

to make your dreams come true.

May His love and wisdom always help,

to guide you on your way.

May His light shine down upon you now,

to bless your Easter Day.”

Don’t Sleep In

If you’re short on sleep, don’t try to catch up by sleeping in. Instead, adhere to your normal routine whenever possible, even on weekends. “Irregular schedules do bad things to thinking, cognition, mood, hormone secretion, and waking–and are risk factors for all sorts of untoward health outcomes. ✒️ Writers’ Wisdom ~ Bringing Characters to Life

If I write in scenes and always from the point of view of a particular character — the one whose view best brings the scene to life — I’m able to concentrate on the voices of the characters telling you who they are and how they feel about what they see and what’s going on, and I’m nowhere in sight. ~ Elmore Leonard
