🤗 A Better Life ~ Don’t Let Disappointment Rule
People we love are going to disappoint us. Conversely, we are going to disappoint people who love us. We can let disappointment rule and destroy a relationship; or, we can forgive, forgive, and forgive again creating a relationship on unconditional love.
🌾 Today’s Poem ~ O Me! O Life!
O Me! O Life!
Of the endless trains of the faithless—of cities fill’d with the
foolish;
Of myself forever reproaching myself, (for who more foolish than I,
and who more faithless?)
Of eyes that vainly crave the light—of the objects mean—of the
struggle ever renew’d;
Of the poor results of all—of the plodding and sordid crowds I see
around me;
Of the empty and useless years of the rest—with the rest me
intertwined;
The question, O me! so sad, recurring—What good amid these, O me, O
life? Answer.
That you are here—that life exists, and identity;
That the powerful play goes on, and you will contribute a verse.
🍎 Today’s Health Question ~ How Much Sodium Does My Body Need?
Watch It, It’s Easy to Have Take in Too Much Sodium
The body needs only a small amount of sodium (less than 500 milligrams per day) to function properly. The amount in less than ¼ teaspoon. Healthy kidneys are great at retaining the sodium that your body needs. Keeping sodium in check is part of following an overall healthy eating pattern. The American Heart Association diet emphasizes fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, nuts, plant-based protein, lean animal protein and fish. Replace processed meats, refined carbohydrates and sweetened beverages with healthier options. . . . The guideline to reduce to 1,500 mg doesn’t apply to people who lose big amounts of sodium in sweat, like competitive athletes, and workers exposed to major heat stress, such as foundry workers and fire fighters, or to those directed otherwise by their healthcare provider.
👊 Today’s Power Thought ~ Stay Strong, Keep Your Eyes on the Goal
Don’t let the naysayers discourage you. Don’t give to the swells of anger than sometimes fill the atmosphere. Stay steady, remain peaceful, keep your eyes and heart fixed on the goal.
Today’s Smile 😃
Joe: “I went on a first date last night. We went to a restaurant and she asked me if I prefer dogs or cats.”
Pete: “What did you say?”
Joe: “I said, ‘I don’t dogs or cats on the menu.'”
🤗 A Better Life ~ Today is a Gift
Today is a gift, wrapped with a bright, beautiful ribbon. I’ll carefully unwrap my gift and embrace the surprises waiting for me. I don’t know what is waiting, some day when I look back, I’ll know it was the perfect gift.
💡 Something to Think About
Falling in love is easy. Putting in the work to stay in love, is hard work. Love is worth the work, Love is worth the effort, Love is worth everything that it brings.
