🌞 Today’s Inspiration ~ Choose to be Happy

“Happiness doesn’t depend upon who you are or what you have; it depends solely upon what you think. Start each day by thinking of all the things you have to be thankful for. Your future will depend very largely on the thoughts you think today. So think thoughts of hope and confidence and love and success. ~ Dale Carnegie

👊 Today’s Power Thought ~ Time is a Precious Treasure

Treat time as a precious treasure. Don’t waste a moment in anger, resentment, or jealousy. Fill your moments with love, chasing your dream, doing good and life will overflow with meaning.

🌞 Today’s Inspiration ~ Light and Darkness

“I will love the light for it shows me the way, yet I will endure the darkness because it shows me the stars.” ~ Og Mandino

🌾 Today’s Poem ~ Love

Love

William Carlos Williams

Love is twain, it is not single,
Gold and silver mixed to one,
Passion ‘tis and pain which mingle
Glist’ring then for aye undone.

Pain it is not; wondering pity
Dies or e’er the pang is fled;
Passion ‘tis not, foul and gritty,
Born one instant, instant dead.

Love is twain, it is not single,
Gold and silver mixed to one,
Passion ‘tis and pain which mingle
Glist’ring then for aye undone.

💡 Something to Think About

Who would have predicted a winter storm for south Texas in mid-February? Signs of spring should be popping up everywhere. No sense complaining, it won’t do any good. I think I’ll get the slow cooker out and start lentil soup. I might even step outside and say thank you for the cold air, snow, and the gifts of the moment.

🍎 Today’s Health Question ~ Should You Push Through the Pain to Exercise?

Two Important Questions:

“Should I push through the pain? Is there such a thing as ‘good pain’?”

A certain low level of soreness is acceptable, but you should not push through pain while exercising. There will be times when the pain is bad and persistent enough to warrant not just giving the exercise a rest but also paying a visit to your doctor.

🤗 A Better Life ~ What Words Do You Use?

Choose words with great care. At their best, words inspire, uplift, and heal. Words can name problems without condemning. Worlds can describe situations without shaming. The words we use tell much about us.

✒️ Writers’ Wisdom ~ Reading and Writing – Two Sides of the Same Coin

Read, read, read. Read everything — trash, classics, good and bad, and see how they do it. Just like a carpenter who works as an apprentice and studies the master. Read! You’ll absorb it. Then write. If it’s good, you’ll find out. If it’s not, throw it out of the window. ~ William Faulkner

Today’s Smile 😃

Joe: “I show my girlfriend who’s the alpha leader in our apartment.”

Pete: “How do you do that?”

Joe: “I hold a mirror up to her face.”

💡 Something to Think About

When we focus on one dot on a large wall we believe our problems are overwhelming. If we adjust our focus, we gain a new perspective and understand our troubles may not be as big as we made them out to be.
