Hard work and perseverance are two traits of those who succeed. Keep working, keep persevering, you’ll come out on top.

Today’s Smile 😃
Joe: “I used my best pickup line at the bar last night.”
Pete: “Did it work?”
Joe: “I don’t know. Her boyfriend knocked me out before I could judge her reaction.”
💡 Something to Think About
It’s hard to let go.
It’s hard to let go of people you love who die.
It’s hard to let go of things that once brought joy and happiness, but are no longer available.
Embrace what you have. It will be different, but in the difference lies a new chance to find happiness and joy. Take the chance. Live the life you have.
✒️ Writers’ Wisdom ~ What Is the Starting Place for a Story?
“Nearly always in my mind a story begins with a character or characters. This holds good though the main interest of the story may be incident or the surprise of its plot. Making the story is with me the process of providing these people with things to do and say which will express them. I never began with a title (they are my plague), or a setting. Once or twice with a situation. Occasionally with a sentence which came into my mind from heaven knows where.” ~ H. C. Bailey
🌞 Today’s Inspiration ~ Trust Yourself
“Trust thyself: every heart vibrates to that iron string.” ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
🤗 A Better Life ~ Are You Spinning Your Wheels?
It’s hard to see someone we love suffer, especially when we know they are the cause of their suffering. Arguing, pleading, and cajoling all fail to bring about the changes we know are necessary. Better to save our energy and turn to good we can do. If the one we love, wants to change, we can be ready to offer a hand.
🌾 Today’s Poem ~ The Guitarist Tunes Up
The Guitarist Tunes Up
Frances Darwin Cornford
With what attentive courtesy he bent
Over his instrument;
Not as a lordly conquerer who could
Command both wire and wood,
But as a man with a loved woman might,
Inquiring with delight
What slight essential things she had to say
Before they started, he and she, to play.
✒️ Writers’ Wisdom ~ Do You Know Your Genre?
Know Your Genre
This goes hand in hand with knowing your audience. There are key elements that fans of certain genres will expect to find when they start reading your work. More often than not, genres can be divided further into subgenres that accommodate very specific motivations and plotlines. Keep it consistent. It is possible to write a successful cross-genre story, but you don’t want to mix it up too much. A supernatural romantic thriller, for example, could end up alienating fans of all three genres.
🍎 Today’s Health Question ~ Is There Such a Thing as Too Much Exercise?
It’s Possible to Exercise Too Much
We all know that regular exercise is essential. It can help you keep your weight in check, improve your mental health, and reduce your risk of developing certain cancers. Research even shows that vigorous workouts could help you live longer. That said, it is possible to get too much of a good thing; It’s called overtraining, and it can show up as everything from chronic soreness to mood disturbances. Tune in to these symptoms warning you that you’re overdoing it, then learn how to tweak your habits for even greater sweat success.
💡 Something to Think About
Stuff happens all the time. I know someone who refuses to watch the news or read about current events. He says he’s happier that way. Sometimes you have to roll up your sleeves, get your hands dirty and work with others to benefit the community.
