The presence of free radicals in the body increases the risk of cancer, but antioxidants help remove them to lower the likelihood of this disease. Many phytochemicals found in fruits, vegetables, nuts, and legumes act as antioxidants, including beta-carotene, lycopene, and vitamins A, C, and E.
According to the National Cancer Institute, though humans trials are inconclusive, there are laboratory and animal studies that link certain antioxidants to a reduced incidence of free radical damage due to cancer.

There’s a threshold we all face when we’re striving for success in any aspect of life. If we’re to pass through the threshold we have to engage the struggle, chaos, and pain. It is at this point many turn away when they are so close to victory. Don’t quit, push through the threshold.
Birds swoop into my bird feeder as if it hosts a fantastic buffet. Every so often, a large hawk swoops in and picks up an unsuspecting dove walking out from the protection of the trees. In nature, there are consequences for actions. The same is true for humans. What we eat has consequences for our health. How we treat others has consequences for how others will treat us. Just like the birds flying in and out of my bird feeder, we have consequences for all our actions.

I like second chances. I also like third and fourth chances. I’ve been given enough of them by people who’ve made a difference in my life. Giving another chance to someone who’s fallen is a good way of paying back the second chances we’ve been given.
