🌞 Today’s Inspiration ~ All Hopes Fulfilled

“There is a place called ‘heaven’ where the good here unfinished is completed; and where the stories unwritten, and the hopes unfulfilled, are continued. We may laugh together yet.”

~ J. R. R. Tolkien

👍 Today’s Good Word ~ Compassion

Compassion – def: a feeling of deep sympathy and sorrow for another who is stricken by misfortune, accompanied by a strong desire to alleviate the suffering.

Our compassion for others mirrors our compassion for ourselves. When we are compassionate to someone who is suffering we heal and renew ourselves. Love wins, it always wins.

👍 Upbeat Words ~ Commitment

Commitment def: a promise or firm decision to do something

Commitment is central to all our relationships. It is a giving of our word that we will follow through on what we’ve promised. When we hold firm to our commitments we earn the trust of the person(s) to whom we made our commitment. How we honor our commitments is a stamp on our character.

🌞 Today’s Inspiration ~ The Great Adventure Lies Ahead

The greatest adventure is what lies ahead.
Today and tomorrow are yet to be said.
The chances, the changes are all yours to make.
The mold of your life is in your hands to break.

~ J. R. R. Tolkien

Today’s Smile 😃

Joe: “I think my wife is losing her memory.”

Pete: “What makes you think so?”

Joe: “She told me she remember what she ever saw in me.”

🌾 Today’s Poem ~ Love is Enough

Love is Enough

William Morris

Love is enough: though the world be a-waning,
And the woods have no voice but the voice of complaining,
Though the skies be too dark for dim eyes to discover
The gold-cups and daisies fair blooming thereunder,
Though the hills be held shadows, and the sea a dark wonder,
And this day draw a veil over all deeds passed over,
Yet their hands shall not tremble, their feet shall not falter:
The void shall not weary, the fear shall not alter
These lips and these eyes of the loved and the lover.

💡 Something to Think About

This morning I made a trip to the supermarket to get coffee filters (I need my morning cup of coffee). As I was coming out of the supermarket, I saw a man in a pickup truck using his jumper cables to give a woman’s SUV a boost. We all need a boost like that from time to time. His kindness took the edge off her day. A small inconvenience for him turned into a big deal for this woman. Who can you give a boost to today?

🤗 A Better Life ~ An Inspiring Tale

I was inspired this morning when I read the story of Omar Hegazy. Omar is an Egyptian man who lost a leg in a motorcycle accident. He had his bad moments after the loss, then he decided not to give up. Recently he set two Guinness Book of World Records for underwater swimming. Setbacks come with life. We can let the setbacks permanently disable us or we can use our setbacks to inspire us to greater things. That’s what Omar did. Never quit. Never give up.

👊 Today’s Power Thought ~ Is It Time to Move On?

The best way to move on is the cast off anything that’s holding us back. It takes an act of courage to cast off anything that holds us back, but in the casting off we gain our freedom from attachments that stop us from growing.

🍎 Today’s Health Tip ~ Be Berry Good to Yourself

Berries of all kinds are rich in antioxidants — substances found in certain foods that help fight cell damage. . . . They’re best consumed in real, whole foods — not supplements — especially colorful fruits and vegetables.

The Best Choices for Berries

1. Blueberries – Blueberries contain good amounts of fiber, vitamin C, and antioxidant anthocyanins. Eating blueberries may help reduce risk factors for heart disease and diabetes.

2. Raspberries – Raspberries are full of fiber and antioxidant polyphenols. Black raspberries, in particular, may benefit heart health.

3. Strawberries – Strawberries are an excellent source of vitamin C. They may also help reduce risk factors for heart disease and control blood sugar.

4. Blackberries – They’re also among the berries highest in antioxidants and fiber, and they have been less cultivated than blueberries, meaning what we eat today is closer to the fruit that once existed in the wild.

5. Cranberries – Cranberries and cranberry juice can reduce the risk of urinary tract and stomach infections and may benefit heart health. However, it’s best to avoid juices with lots of added sugar.
