What If . . .

What if you asked yourself, “What am I passionate about?” How would  you answer that question? When you think about this question, try to block out thoughts of complying with what other people think or what appears to be popular. Discover your inner passion. It’s inside you and waiting for you to discover it. When you discover it, flame its fire and turn it into a roaring blaze.

Something to Think About

If we’re always asking permission or seeking approval are we really free? When ask permission or make decisions based on what we believe others like, we forfeit our freedom. We end up serving many masters and never serving ourselves. There comes a time in life, where one has to assert one’s independence. Asserting our independence is a courageous act. On one side of the coin when we assert our independence we risk alienating those close to us. On the other side of the coin we act independently and take responsibility for our actions. We have to live with the consequences. We can’t lay the blame for failure on others. Are you ready to be free and no longer seek approval or permission before stepping out?

Today’s Health Tip ~ To Floss or Brush First, Which is Better?

Should You Floss Before or After Brushing?

Flossing first might be a tad more beneficial, but it’s most important that you DO brush and floss. The study that Dr. Ross references looked at the effects of both flossing before brushing and brushing before flossing to determine which, if either, was better for dental health. It found that flossing first did a better job of reducing some types of dental plaque, a sticky film that forms on teeth.

“Flossing is incredibly important because studies repeatedly show that brushing alone doesn’t get to the area in between your teeth,” Dr. Ross confirms. “If you’re not getting rid of the plaque there, it can lead to cavities or periodontal disease.”

Today’s Inspiration ~ It’s Time to Decide

“Not to decide is to decide. Letting something go until it ‘decides itself’ is Life by Default. You don’t want to live that way. So choose. Choose right now. Stop worrying about what you can ‘lose’ or how you can ‘win’ and just follow your joy. Where does your joy say you should go?”

~ Neale Donald Walsch

Something to Think About

Four Questions to Answer at the End of Each Day:

  1. What did I learn today?
  2. Who did I love today?
  3. How did I make a difference today?
  4. What was I grateful for today?

These questions provide us with an opportunity to reflect on our day. Each day provides us with opportunities to learn. These opportunities surround us. They come at us through the digital media, friends, and our work. When we love someone each day, we reach out to the other person and leave our ego behind. We become a better human being with each act of love. When we make a difference, small or great, in another’s life, we contribute to building a better society. Opportunities to make difference abound, grab a handful and you’ll be a difference maker. Each day overflows with an abundance of things for which we can express our gratitude: health, family, work, a team’s victory, a good book, good music, you get the idea. Make it a regular practice and you’ll notice a big difference in your being.

Today’s Poem ~ Crossing the Bar

Crossing The Bar
Lord Alfred Tennyson
Sunset and evening star,
And one clear call for me!
And may there be no moaning of the bar,
When I put out to sea,

But such a tide as moving seems asleep,
Too full for sound and foam,
When that which drew from out the boundless deep
Turns again home.

Twilight and evening bell,
And after that the dark!
And may there be no sadness of farewell,
When I embark;

For tho’ from out our bourne of Time and Place
The flood may bear me far,
I hope to see my Pilot face to face
When I have crost the bar.

Today’s Power Thought ~ Who Are Your Friends?

Who we hang out with, is who we become. A Bulgarian proverb says, “Tell me who your friends are, so I can tell you who you are.” Choose your friends wisely. Choose friends who inspire you. Choose friends who encourage you. Choose friends who lift you up when you are down. Do the same for them.

What If . . .

What if you could change something tomorrow regarding your life, what would it be? Give it some thought. Be creative and think outside the box. The only limits to place on your thinking is that your ideas have to be technologically feasible and you can do it tomorrow. If you really want to change, change! Don’t let excuses come through the door. Enter the no excuse zone.
