When life knocks you down, do you rise to fight again? Everyone gets knocked down. It’s a tough blow. It knocks the wind out of us. We may wonder if we have the strength to rise again. We may wonder if we have the strength to rise will we have the strength to go on. The answer is a resounding YES! We are so much stronger than we can imagine. All the small hits made us stronger. They prepared us for the bigger hits. We all get them. They happen. When they do our choices are limited. We can rise to live and fight again. Or, we can give up and slowly die. To me, there is only one choice, rise, rise, rise, again and again.

Today’s Health Tip ~ Healthy Fridge Foods to Feed Hungry Moments
5 health Fridge Foods
-
- Turkey – It’s low in fat and sodium, and high in protein. And versatile, too: Wrap some turkey breast in a whole-wheat tortilla for a snack or take it to work for lunch.
- Salsa – Make some yourself — it’s a healthy, easy way to put some zip into egg dishes, soups, and sauces. Use it instead of oily dressings on vegetables and heartier salads, too.
- Hummus – This Middle Eastern dip — traditionally made with chickpeas, garlic, and olive oil — is low in fat and calories and high in protein and fiber. Chickpeas are legumes, which can be good for people with high blood pressure and diabetes. They also can lower your cholesterol and may help protect you against cancer.
- 100% Fruit Juice – Freshly squeezed juice can be a good source of certain vitamins and minerals, but because it’s almost always high in sugar, you should drink it in moderation. One way to stretch it out is to add it to your seltzer for a kind of low-calorie “soft drink” with some nutritional value.

Today’s Poem ~ Angels Come to Love Us
Angels Come to Love Us
Sri Chinmoy
In the last dark hour
Of the night,
Angels come to love us
And awaken us.
Think About It ~ You’ll Know Which Person You Want as a Friend
You can tell a person’s character by how he/she reacts under pressure, stress, or betrayal. When the odds are stacked against them, do they lie, cheat, or blame others? If they do, it is a sign of their character.
If, under the same pressure, stress, or betrayal, the person stands tall, walks with his/her head held high, and doesn’t change or shift his/her values, you’ve met someone special. They’ll stand by you in good and bad times. Keep them close by. It’s not easy to be such a person, something deep inside tells them they have no other way to act regardless of the cost.
Today’s Inspiration ~ There’s Always A Way – Don’t Quit
“If you run into a wall, don’t turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it.”

Today’s Positive Thought ~ Are You Ready to Pay the Price?
“The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather a lack of will (Vince Lombardi).” A mentor gave me similar advice early on in my career. He took me aside and said, “Ray, successful people do what unsuccessful people refuse to do.” I discovered he was right. He was talking about commitment, hard work, focus, and unrelenting desire to succeed. You are designed to be successful. My mentor’s advice is applicable to all parts of life: relationships, health, fitness, work, and spiritual.
Today’s Positive Thought ~ Tough Times Happen, You’re Tougher
“Tough times go away, tough people do not (Walter Payton).” Every human faces tough times. They are part of the fabric of human life. Much like the ocean tides tough times roll in; they also give way to the changing tide and roll away. Endure the tough times with strength, resilience, and dignity. You are tougher than the tough times. The good times are waiting for you. Hang in there. Never quit.
Think About It ~ We can much more together than we can do alone
I can lift a certain amount of weight by myself. When my friend helps me we can lift three times the weight I was able to lift alone. It’s the way life works. We can do much more together than we can do alone. When we work together we discover “our way” will get us much further than “my way” will get us. C’mon reach out a helping hand and work together with family, friends, colleagues, and neighbors. Together, we’ll make it a better world.
Today’s Health Tip ~ Tips to Avoid High Blood Pressure
- Avoid sodium – One of the biggest links between high blood pressure and the food you eat is the amount of sodium it contains.
- Follow the DASH Diet – The DASH diet, which stands for Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension, as well as the Mediterranean diet, are both known to help reduce high blood pressure and promote heart health, especially when combined with other heart-healthy steps like reducing alcohol consumption, lowering stress levels and maintaining physical activity.
- Focus on whole foods Focusing on minimally processed whole foods like fruits, vegetables, whole grains, healthy fats, lean proteins and nuts or seeds will all support heart health.
- Aim for Two servings of dairy per day – Eating at least two daily servings of dairy is linked to a lower risk of high blood pressure and diabetes.
- Get regular exercise – Exercise has a direct, immediate impact on blood pressure. The increase in nitric oxide in one’s system from exercise causes vasodilation, which lowers blood pressure.
