Joe: “I recall the last time I met someone who was my type.”
Pete: “When was that?”
Joe: “What I was donating blood.”

It is the reflex of our earthly frame,
That takes its meaning from the nobler part,
And but translates the language of the heart.

Stay Hydrated for Better Digestion: Adequate water intake is crucial for maintaining a healthy colon. Water helps in the digestion and absorption of food, and it also keeps the stool soft, making it easier to pass. Dehydration can lead to constipation and other digestive issues, which can strain the colon and potentially lead to more serious conditions like diverticulitis. Therefore, drinking enough water daily is essential for optimal colon function and overall digestive health.
I had a true old-fashioned Texas experience yesterday. I had my roof inspected for hail damage. The roofer and I had a lengthy talk about what had to be done, how it would be done, the estimated cost, and the process of submitting a claim to my insurance company. We agreed if the insurance company approves the claim the roofer will take care of the repairs. We shook hands. My handshake meant I won’t run around seeking to find someone else who will do the work cheaper. I trust the roofer to do the job correctly (I did do my research before he visited). I know he trusted me to follow through on my promise to use his company. That’s old school, a handshake and the trust that goes with it. It would be nice if more of it happened.
Let’s make today a do something different, really different day. Doing that will really mess with our minds. What if we did several things totally different today, we might have to have an intervention. Our minds will be spinning out of control. It’s unheard of that in the space of 24 hours I’d call someone I haven’t called in years; I’d eat at a restaurant that serves cuisine I’ve never tried; and, I’d read an op ed column from start to finish that has an opinion diametrically opposed to mine. We might discover we have a breakthrough instead of a breakdown. New ideas enter our mind. Our minds connect them with our data base and suddenly our world viewpoint changes. Now that is radical.
