Today’s Poem: O Me! O Life! by Walt Whitman
O Me! O Life!
Walt Whitman
O me! O life! of the questions of these recurring,
Of the endless trains of the faithless, of cities fill’d with the foolish,
Of myself forever reproaching myself, (for who more foolish than I,
and who more faithless?)
Of eyes that vainly crave the light, of the objects mean, of the
struggle ever renew’d,
Of the poor results of all, of the plodding and sordid crowds I see around me,
Of the empty and useless years of the rest, with the rest me intertwined,
The question, O me! so sad, recurring-What good amid these, O me,
O life?
Answer.
That you are here-that life exists and identity,
That the powerful play goes on, and you may contribute a verse.
Heath Fact: Bug Bites Driving You Crazy?
Here are two little-known ways to stop bug bites from itching:
1. Banana Peel
Rubbing the inside of a banana peel on the bug bite can help reduce itching and inflammation. The peel contains natural oils and compounds that have anti-inflammatory properties.
2. Toothpaste
Applying a small amount of toothpaste (preferably one with peppermint or baking soda) to the bite can help soothe the itch. The menthol in the toothpaste provides a cooling sensation, while baking soda can help reduce swelling and irritation.
Both of these methods are easy to try at home and can provide relief from the discomfort of bug bites.

Today’s Thought: It’s All Part of the Ebb and Flow of Life
Yesterday, thunderstorms rolled through. Anytime it rains in south Texas it’s time for celebration and gratitude. It doesn’t rain often, when it comes, it’s a deluge. That’s often the way it is with life. Waves of good or bad seem to band together to visit us. Like yesterday’s thunderstorm, things usually come to an end and life changes. Stay strong during the hard times knowing they won’t be hard for ever, they’ll run their course. Be grateful during the good times and treasure every moment. The memories will help to get through the tough moments. It’s all part of the ebb and flow of life. The tough times makes us stronger. The good times make us humble.

Today’s Poem: The Tide Rises The Tide Falls by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
The Tide Rises The Tide Falls
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
The tide rises, the tide falls,
The twilight darkens, the curlew calls;
Along the sea-sands damp and brown
The traveler hastens toward the town,
And the tide rises, the tide falls.
Darkness settles on roofs and walls,
But the sea, the sea in darkness calls;
The little waves, with their soft, white hands
Efface the footprints in the sands,
And the tide rises, the tide falls.
The morning breaks; the steeds in their stalls
Stamp and neigh, as the hostler calls;
The day returns, but nevermore
Returns the traveler to the shore.
And the tide rises, the tide falls.
Health Fact: DYK These Facts About Bone Density?
Here are two lesser-known but important health facts related to bone density:
1. Vitamin K2’s Role in Bone Health:
While Vitamin D and calcium are well-known for their roles in bone health, Vitamin K2 is often overlooked. Vitamin K2 helps direct calcium to the bones and teeth, where it is needed, and prevents it from being deposited in the arteries and other soft tissues. This vitamin plays a crucial role in activating proteins that bind calcium to the bone matrix, which helps maintain bone density and reduce the risk of fractures.
2. Impact of Gut Health on Bone Density:
Emerging research suggests that gut health significantly impacts bone density. The gut microbiome, which consists of trillions of microorganisms living in the intestines, influences the absorption of nutrients crucial for bone health, such as calcium and magnesium. A healthy gut microbiome can enhance nutrient absorption and reduce inflammation, both of which are beneficial for maintaining strong bones. Conversely, poor gut health can lead to malabsorption of these nutrients and potentially contribute to bone density loss.
By paying attention to these factors, individuals can better support their bone health and overall well-being.
