A Better Life ~ The Gift of Time

When we help another we’re giving our time as a free gift. It is also a gift that we receive since it takes us out of our game and self-centeredness. We become more other centered through our offering to time. It’s a wonderful gift and often doesn’t cost more than the offer of time.

A Better Life ~ Maintaining Balance in Life

I like veggies. I like fruit. I like unsalted nuts. I also like pizza and pasta. I try to maintain a sensible balance between what I want to eat and what I know I should eat for good health. Most areas of our life have contrasting forces. For example, there is a balance between work and play. There is a balance between using our digital media and stepping away from it. Our lives can be improved when we balance the opposing contrasts.

A Better Life ~ Shine On!

Good morning, Sunshine. C’mon, show me your smile. That’s it, make your smile grow from ear to ear. Put some upbeat music on, the kind that makes you want to dance and sign along. Go ahead and spread your arms out wide and give a hearty, heart-felt thank you for this day. You are going to light it and nothing, no nothing can stop you.

A Better Life ~ Let Love Overflow

Don’t waste a moment, let those you love know you love them. We all want to live long, healthy lives. Yet, none of us is guaranteed tomorrow. That’s why the wise ones tell us to live in the moment, it’s all we have. Fill it up with love until it is overflowing and touching all who come your way. Here’s hoping that you have many tomorrows in your life and that each today overflows with love.

A Better Life ~

It’s often the small, trivial things that disturb us. We may go to dinner and find the wait time for a table is forty-five minutes. We let it upset us and leave. A better way may be to enjoy each other’s company over a drink and appetizer while waiting. It’s similar with other trivial things. When we learn to roll with them, life takes a 180 degree turn for the better. Today go on a trivial fast. You’ll feel a lot better.

A Better Life ~ It’s a Great Day

What kind of day are you having? I’m having a great day. I hope you’re riding on same road as I am.. It’s not a perfect road. There are potholes every now and them. I’m not going to let them steal my great day from me. If nature decides to rain on me, I think I’ll dance in it. A bit of rain can’t take away the joy I am getting from being alive and enjoying this day. Ride on the great day with me.

A Better Life ~ It Doesn’t Take Much

Although it’s not classified as a disease, loneliness is prevalent among us in great numbers. It is a silent disease since the lonely have no one to turn to. The lonely sit and stare at a TV, wait for the phone to ring, or wait for someone to knock at their door. Do you know a lonely, isolated person? Stop by to say hi. Bring him/her a surprise. It doesn’t take much to make a difference and lighten the load of feeling lonely.

A Better Life ~ Is It Time to Heal?

We’ve all been wounded. For some, the wounds are open and bleeding. For others, the wounds are hidden, but they are there. Is it time to look compassionately at our wounds and cease blaming ourselves? Is it time to love the wounds into healing? Is it time to transform the wounds into lessons to nurture one’s growth?

A Better Life ~ There’s Always a Way

There are days when we wonder if we’ll ever make it through. Make it though we must. There’s always a way out. If we don’t quit, we may discover the way out or through was waiting for us to open the door and step out..

A Better Life – Learning is Part of our Human Nature

One of the joys of being human is that we can continue to learn and apply what we’ve learned to life. We can learn from our setbacks to set us up for success. We can learn by asking the right questions and seeking answers to those questions. We can learn by developing a curious nature. We can learn at all times, in all places, and in every circumstance.
