šŸ¤— A Better Life ~ The Little Joyful Things

āœ’ļø Writers’ Wisdom ~ Write What You Enjoy

“[S]tay focused and write what you enjoy writing. Don’t write for money or follow the trends of what might be selling at the time. Write something that you cannot only be proud of, but also enjoy the process of writing. Ā . . Ā .Ā Most of all, make sure you have a life while doing it—exercise, teach, build, vote, explore, learn, grow, fellowship, and most of all, love. It will not only inform your writing but you’ll also be a healthier person for it, mentally and physically.” ~ Christopher J. Moore

šŸ’” Something to Think About

When are you happy? You know, you have that peaceful, life is good feeling tingling all of your cells. You feel like singing and dancing, that kind of happiness. Be grateful for those moments. We can’t make them happen, but when they happen enjoy the ride and be grateful.

šŸŽ Today’s Health Tip ~ Want to Be Happier?

Keep company with good people. –Ā Maximize the amount of time that you spend with people you enjoy being around. Connecting with others who radiate positivity and have similar interests will excite and energize you.Ā

Avoid news overdose. ~Ā The news is too frequently bombarded with stories of suffering. These stories can skew your view of the world and cause you to focus on your worst fears instead of recognizing the good that surrounds you. You can’t avoid these stories altogether, but try to minimize your exposure when you can, especially during trying times.

Get regular exercise. ~Ā Getting the 150 minutes of weekly activity recommended by the Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans can add to your energy account and not subtract from it. Exercise relieves stress and tension, strengthens muscles and boosts endurance, which helps your body to work more efficiently during other physical tasks or activities.

Do something meaningful each day. ~Ā Putting effort into the things that matter most to you will help you utilize and reserve your energy in ways that will bring out the best in you.

Think good thoughts for others. ~Ā Maintaining a compassionate mindset is another way to conserve energy. . . . Judging others can cause us to place judgment on ourselves, and that type of negative internal dialogue can be exhausting.

🌾 Today’s Poem ~ Did You Never Know?

Did You Never Know?
Sara Teasdale
Did you never know, long ago, how much you loved me—
That your love would never lessen and never go?
You were young then, proud and fresh-hearted,
You were too young to know.

Fate is a wind, and red leaves fly before it
Far apart, far away in the gusty time of year—
Seldom we meet now, but when I hear you speaking,
I know your secret, my dear, my dear.
