💡 Something to Think About

A great gift one can give to another is to love that person as he/she is and who he/she is becoming. Loving all the imperfections, loving all the ups and downs, dreams and hopes, the sadness and joys.

✒️ Writers’ Wisdom ~ It’s Not All About Writing

You’ve got to get out. Take a walk. At the very least, these days, leave the screen and stand by a window. So much work can happen while you’re not working. I think this is instinctive for some people, but I always have to remind myself; otherwise I end up stuck and hunched and ripping everything in half.”

🤗 A Better Life ~ Cleaning the Plate

I‘ve got enough problems on my plate. If I pile things on my plate I can’t do anything about I add to my anxiety. When we clear the problems off our plate we’ll feel better and find time to enjoy life a bit more.

🌾 Today’s Poem ~ Waiting for You

Waiting For You
Li Ching Chao

Lonely in my secluded chamber,
A thousand sorrows fill every inch
of my sensitive being.

Regretting that spring has so soon passed,
That rain drops have hastened the falling followers,
I lean over the balustrade,
Weary and depressed.

Where is my beloved?

Only the fading grassland
stretches endlessly toward the horizon;
Anxiously I watch the road for your return.

👊 Today’s Power Thought ~ Don’t Let Today Slip Away

Don’t let the day slip away. Think of all you’ll miss. There’s ups and downs, friends and foes, love and joy, and laughter and tears. There’s so much that’s happening today. The more we touch the day, the more we’re experiencing life.

Today’s Smile 😃

Joe: “I’m not going back to work until my boss apologies for what he said to me.”

Pete: “What did your boss say?”

Joe: “My boss said, “Your fired.”

🍎 Today’s Health Tip ~ What are Anti-Nutrients?

The term “anti-nutrients” suggests what they are. Whereas nutrients are substances that nourish plants and animals to grow and live, anti-nutrients earn their title because they can block the absorption of nutrients. Anti-nutrients are naturally found in animals and many plant-based foods. In plants, they are compounds designed to protect from bacterial infections and being eaten by insects. . . . It is not known how much nutrient loss occurs in our diets because of anti-nutrients, and the effects vary among individuals based on their metabolism and how the food is cooked and prepared. Many anti-nutrients like phytates, lectins, and glucosinolates can be removed or deactivated by soaking, sprouting, or boiling the food before eating.

🌾 Today’s Poem ~ The Sound of the Sea

The Sound of the Sea
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
The sea awoke at midnight from its sleep,
And round the pebbly beaches far and wide
I heard the first wave of the rising tide
Rush onward with uninterrupted sweep;
A voice out of the silence of the deep,
A sound mysteriously multiplied
As of a cataract from the mountain’s side,
Or roar of winds upon a wooded steep.
So comes to us at times, from the unknown
And inaccessible solitudes of being,
The rushing of the sea-tides of the soul;
And inspirations, that we deem our own,
Are some divine of foreshadowing and foreseeing
Of things beyond our reason or control.
