✒️ Writers’ Wisdom ~ Kurt Vonnegut’s 8 Simple Rules for Writing
8 Simple Rules for Writing
1. Use the time of a total stranger in such a way that he or she will not feel the time was wasted.
2. Give the reader at least one character he or she can root for.
3. Every character should want something, even if it is only a glass of water.
4. Every sentence must do one of two things-reveal character or advance the action.
5. Start as close to the end as possible.
6. Be a sadist. No matter how sweet and innocent your leading characters, make awful things happen to them-in order that the reader may see what they are made of.
7. Write to please just one person. If you open a window and make love to the worlds, so to speak, your story will get pneumonia.
8. Give your readers as much information as possible as soon as possible. To heck with suspense. Readers should have such complete understanding of what is going on, where and why, that they could finish the story themselves, should cockroaches eat the last few pages.

Pete: “No. How can you tell?”
Joe: “Don’t worry, they’ll tell you.”
💡 Something to Think About
I read an article reporting research linking kindness to longevity. Kindness is a good idea with benefits for the giver and receiver. Kindness requires awareness and action; awareness of the needs of those around us and commensurate action to intervene with an act of kindness.
👊 Today’s Power Thought ~ You’re Built to Master Your Challenges
A kite rises highest against the wind. When we meet our challenges head on and don’t give in, the wind takes our kite even higher. Don’t fear the challenges, you are built to master them. Shin On!
🤗 A Better Life ~ Is It Time to Question?
Unconsciously we adopt at face value ways to think, ways to eat, and ways to behave. Some of these unconsciously adopted behaviors and beliefs are good for us. Others, are detrimental. It’s up to us to have the courage to question these behaviors and beliefs and decide if they are still relevant for us. When we can freely decide, we discover a new freedom.

🍎 Today’s Health Tip ~ Want to Stop Leg Cramps?
Prevent Leg Cramping Through Nutrition
Muscle cramps happen when your muscles tense up and you can’t relax them. While painful, usually you can treat them yourself. Exercise, dehydration, and menstruation are common causes. One way to stop cramps is to stretch or massage your muscles and to eat enough of these key nutrients: potassium, sodium, calcium, and magnesium. They’re called electrolytes, and you can find them in the following foods.
Bananas – Sweet Potatoes – Avocados – Beans/lentils – Melons – Milk – Pickle Juice – Dark Green Leafy Veggies – Orange Juice – Nuts & Seeds – Salmon – Tomatoes – Water

Pete: “Why were you fired, Joe?”
Joe: “I was supposed to feed the animals, but there were signs everywhere that said, “Don’t Feed the Animals.”
👊 Today’s Power Thought ~ Persist and Refuse to Quit
For every challenge you face, you’ll find a solution if you’re persistent and refuse to quit. Push on in the darkness and the light will shine on you once again.
