Joe: “When I got to work today, my boss cornered me and said, ‘You missed work yesterday.”
Pete: “What did you say?”
Pete: “I said, ‘Not really.'”

In today’s litigious society giving one’s word my seem archaic, yet when one gives his/her word that something will done, it is a sign of trust. When we give our word, act on it, we earn deep levels of trust. When we give our word it create a bind between the giver of the word and the receiver of the word. Giving our word is a commitment to act. Those who follow through on giving their word etch their character in stone.
Don’t be too hard on yourself. There are lots of things outside of your control. Let them go. Instead, focus on what you can control .You can control the effort you take to the day. You can take advantage of opportunities grasped to help another. And, you can choose the attitude you take to everything you do. I have a hunch this is going to be a very good day for you.
Fame
John Keats
FAME, like a wayward girl, will still be coy
To those who woo her with too slavish knees,
But makes surrender to some thoughtless boy,
And dotes the more upon a heart at ease;
She is a Gipsey, – will not speak to those
Who have not learnt to be content without her;
A Jilt, whose ear was never whisper’d close,
Who thinks they scandal her who talk about her;
A very Gipsey is she, Nilus-born,
Sister-in-law to jealous Potiphar;
Ye love-sick Bards! repay her scorn for scorn;
Ye Artists lovelorn! madmen that ye are!
Make your best bow to her and bid adieu,
Then, if she likes it, she will follow you.
There will always be problems. When we solve a problem, another one appears. The more problems we solve, the more complex they become. Solving problems is more effective when one searches for solutions and sets blame aside. Focusing on blame never solved a problem. Focusing on ways to resolve the problem creates an environment of cooperation enhancing the opportunities for success.
The search for self discovery is secondary to the act of self creation. Create something great with your life.
Joe: “This morning I made my coffee with Red Bull instead of water.”
Pete: “How did it work out?”
Joe: “After 30 minutes of driving on the highway, I realized i left my car at home.”
Women who eat lentils at least twice a week are 24 percent less likely to develop breast cancer than women who eat them less than once a month, studies show. Lentils keep blood sugar steady, and just a quarter cup of these miniature legumes provides 13 grams of protein, 11 grams of fiber, and 5 milligrams of iron. Try them in soups or salads, or as a tasty side.
Encouraged
Paul Laurence Dunbar
Because you love me I have much achieved,
Had you despised me then I must have failed,
But since I knew you trusted and believed,
I could not disappoint you and so prevailed.
