Today’s Joke: Joe’s GF Has an Opinion

Joe: “My girlfriend says making love while on vacation is the best.”

Pete: “It must be because you’re so relaxed.”

Joe: “I wish she didn’t tell me by text message.”

Today’s Thought: Want to Lose 25 Pounds?

There are some things in life you only learn through experience. You can see it, you can understand it, you know it’s true, but you don’t internalize and make it a part of your being. Making something that is so obvious a part of our being requires both an openness to learning and a willingness to change what we have always done to something different. One example is someone else’s drama does not have to be our drama. When we internalize that we free ourselves from carrying a drama king or queens’s problems on our backs. Internalize that and it’s like losing 25 pounds. All of sudden you’re free.

Today’s Quote: Every Challenge is an Opportunity

Today’s Poem: Life’s Mirror by Madeline S. Bridges

Life’s Mirror

Madeline S. Bridges

There are loyal hearts, there are spirits brave,
There are souls that are pure and true;
Then give to the world the best that you have,
And the best will come back to you.

Give love, and love to your life will flow,
A strength in your utmost need;
Have faith, and a score of hearts will show
Their faith in your work and deed.

Give truth, and your gift will be paid in kind,
And honor will honor meet;
And the smile which is sweet will surely find
A smile that is just as sweet.

Give sorrow and pity to those who mourn;
You will gather in flowers again
The scattered seeds from your thought outborne
Though the sowing seemed but vain.

For life is the mirror of king and slave,
‘Tis just what we are and do;
Then give to the world the best that you have
And the best will come back to you.

Health Fact: DYK Eating Too Much Sugar Ages the Skin?

Aging of the Skin: Excessive sugar intake can accelerate the aging process of the skin through a process called glycation. Glycation occurs when sugar molecules attach to proteins, forming harmful compounds called advanced glycation end products (AGEs). These AGEs damage collagen and elastin, the proteins that keep skin firm and elastic, leading to premature wrinkles and sagging skin. Limiting sugar can help maintain youthful, healthy skin.

Today’s Joke: Joe Needs to Think a Bit More

Joe: “I read online that someone in New York gets stabbed every sixty seconds.”

Pete: “Really?”

Joe: “Yah, poor guy.”

Today’s Thought: Listen to Your Own Inner Voice

I read my news online. I don’t listen to news related podcasts or watch the “experts” on TV. I avoid reading any article where the author is reporting the future. If sports teams, for example, listened to the talking heads, they wouldn’t play the games because the talking heads already know the outcome. We’ve all seen how wrong they can be time and again. We can apply the same logic our lives. How do people we love and trust know if we will be successful? . We only know when we take a chance. Listen to your inner voice, not the folks who believe they know the future.
