“Neither a lofty degree of intelligence nor imagination nor both together go to the making of genius. Love, love, love, that is the soul of genius.” – Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

✒️ Writers’ Wisdom ~ Trust Yourself
“Trust your idea, and just start writing. It can seem like a huge task, especially if you have had your work commissioned and there is a relatively fixed deadline, but once you start putting words on the page it will come together, and there is always someone you can ask for a little bit of support.” ~ Jaime Breitnauer
🍎 Today’s Health Tip ~ Recumbent versus Upright – Which Gives the Better Workout?
Muscles on a Recumbent Bicycle and Upright Bicycle
On a recumbent bike, you are mainly using your quadriceps, hamstrings, tibialis anterior, calf muscles, and glutes. With an upright bike, you are using those same muscles plus your abdominal and arm muscles to hold yourself upright. This means the upright bike is considered more of a total body workout than the recumbent bike.
💡 Something to Think About
Love warms the heart, it heals the hurts, it plays a song that only lovers hear. Love, love, and love some more.
👊 Today’s Power Thought ~ The Best is Ahead
If you’re looking back, you’re going nowhere. Eyes forward, the best is ahead. We can’t always see it, but we can feel it. Yes, the best is ahead for you.
🌾 Today’s Poem ~ Sonnet 41 – I Thank All Who Have Loved Me in Their Hearts
With thanks and love from mine. Deep thanks to all
Who paused a little near the prison-wall
To hear my music in its louder parts
Ere they went onward, each one to the mart’s
Or temple’s occupation, beyond call.
But thou, who, in my voice’s sink and fall
When the sob took it, thy divinest Art’s
Own instrument didst drop down at thy foot
To hearken what I said between my tears, . . .
Instruct me how to thank thee! Oh, to shoot
My soul’s full meaning into future years,
That they should lend it utterance, and salute
Love that endures, from Life that disappears!
Today’s Smile 😃
Joe: “My psychologist told me I suffered from paranoia.”
Pete: “What did you say?”
Joe: “I told my psychologist I wasn’t suffering, I was enjoying every minute of it.”
🤗 A Better Life ~ Holding On or Letting Go? What to Do?
The lines are often blurred when it comes to knowing when to let go and when to hold on. Do the best you can, make a decision, move on.
💡 Something to Think About
I grew up in the Boston area. For me it meant hating the Yankees. The Yankees were the evil empire. I wasn’t born with this bias, I learned it. It’s the way it is with all biases, we learn them. Some biases are silly and foolish. Others, are harmful to ourselves and those toward whom we are biased. If we have the wisdom and courage we can recognize our biases and see them for what they are. It takes courage to admit that a bias is wrong. It takes even greater courage to change.
