“I have voices in my head
I’m a slave to imaginary people
I feel what they feel
I experience what they experience
I live in their world
And I’m devoted to translating their stories
I’m not crazy, I’m a writer”

🌾 Today’s Poem ~ Friends
Three women that have wrought
What joy is in my days:
One because no thought,
Nor those unpassing cares,
No, not in these fifteen
Many-times-troubled years,
Could ever come between
Mind and delighted mind;
And one because her hand
Had strength that could unbind
What none can understand,
What none can have and thrive,
Youth’s dreamy load, till she
So changed me that I live
Labouring in ecstasy.
And what of her that took
All till my youth was gone
With scarce a pitying look?
How could I praise that one?
When day begins to break
I count my good and bad,
Being wakeful for her sake,
Remembering what she had,
What eagle look still shows,
While up from my heart’s root
So great a sweetness flows
I shake from head to foot.
🌞 Today’s Inspiration ~ Love, the Great Gift
“To love someone is nothing, to be loved by someone is something, to love someone who loves you is everything.” ~ Bill Russell
💡 Something to Think About
Dance with the thunder. Sing in the rain. Before you know it, there will be a rainbow in front of you and the sun will be at your back. Dance on!
Today’s Smile 😃
Joe: “My girlfriend broke up with me even though I told her I’d inherit a fortune when my dad died.”
Pete: “That’s too bad, Joe.”
Joe: “You’ve got that right, she’s now my mom.”
🍎 Today’s Health Tip ~ Dark Chocolate, It’s Good For You
Dark Chocolate Is a Winning Health Option
Quality dark chocolate is rich in fiber, iron, magnesium, copper, manganese, and a few other minerals. If you buy quality dark chocolate with a high cocoa content, then it’s quite nutritious. It contains a decent amount of soluble fiber and is loaded with minerals. A 100-gram bar of dark chocolate with 70–85% cocoa contains :
-
-
- 11 grams of fiber
- 67% of the DV for iron
- 58% of the DV for magnesium
- 89% of the DV for copper
- 98% of the DV for manganese
-
In addition, it has plenty of potassium, phosphorus, zinc, and selenium.
Of course, 100 grams (3.5 ounces) also comes with 600 calories and moderate amounts of sugar. For this reason, dark chocolate is best consumed in moderation. The fatty acid profile of cocoa and dark chocolate is also good. The fats consist mostly of oleic acid (a heart-healthy fat also found in olive oil), stearic acid, and palmitic acid.
✒️ Writers’ Wisdom ~ Don’t Worry About What People Think
““I used to be afraid about what people might say or think after reading what I had written. I am not afraid anymore, because when I write, I am not trying to prove anything to anyone, I am just expressing myself and my opinions. It’s ok if my opinions are different from those of the reader, each of us can have his own opinions. So writing is like talking, if you are afraid of writing, you may end up being afraid of talking”

The moment I stop chasing everything I want, I discover that I have everything I need.
👊 Today’s Power Thought ~ It’s Your World
Quit thinking of ‘what if’ and go after ‘what is’ with all you’ve got. It may not be the best of all worlds, but it’s your world, make it work.
🌾 Today’s Poem ~ Next Time
the earth before saying anything. I’d stop
just before going into a house
and be an emperor for a minute
and listen better to the wind
or to the air being still.
When anyone talked to me, whether
blame or praise or just passing time,
I’d watch the face, how the mouth
has to work, and see any strain, any
sign of what lifted the voice.
And for all, I’d know more — the earth
bracing itself and soaring, the air
finding every leaf and feather over
forest and water, and for every person
the body glowing inside the clothes
like a light.
