“If you get stuck, get away from your desk. Take a walk, take a bath, go to sleep, make a pie, draw, listen to music, meditate, exercise; whatever you do, don’t just stick there scowling at the problem. But don’t make telephone calls or go to a party; if you do, other people’s words will pour in where your lost words should be. Open a gap for them, create a space. Be patient.”

🌾 Today’s Poem ~ When I Love
When I Love
Nizar Quabbani
When I love
I feel that I am the king of time
I possess the earth and everything on it
and ride into the sun upon my horse.
When I love
I become liquid light
invisible to the eye
and the poems in my notebooks
become fields of mimosa and poppy.
When I love
the water gushes from my fingers
grass grows on my tongue
when I love
I become time outside all time.
When I love a woman
all the trees
run barefoot toward me…

🍎 Today’s Health Tip ~ Fiber, the Superhero of Nutrition
Fiber is the superhero of nutrition, and there’s a ton of it in plant-based food and none in animal-based food. A high-fiber diet helps reduce the risk of obesity, heart disease, and diabetes. . . . The fiber from beans and grains, fruits, vegetables, and nuts mix with the liquid in your gut to create a sort of gel, and that gel slows the absorption of sugars and the subsequent release of insulin into the bloodstream. That’s a good thing because it keeps your energy steady and strong. At the same time, it pushes against the stretch receptors in your stomach, telling your brain you’ve eaten enough. Then the fiber acts like a scrub brush pushing through your colon, grabbing stuff from inside the nooks and crannies of your 25 ft. long intestinal tract, effectively cleaning out the gunk that could cause trouble. And perhaps best of all, it feeds the good bacteria in your gut which helps regulate inflammation and immune function.
Today’s Smile 😃

Pete: “What did you say?”
Joe: “I told her that wasn’t true. I said, ‘I love her mother-in-law much more than I love mine.'”

✒️ Writers’ Wisdom ~ How to Use Description
“Description must work for its place. It can’t be simply ornamental. It usually works best if it has a human element; it is more effective if it comes from an implied viewpoint, rather than from the eye of God. If description is coloured by the viewpoint of the character who is doing the noticing, it becomes, in effect, part of character definition and part of the action.” ~ Hilary Mantel
