I love children. They are constantly inquiring. They leave yesterday behind and begin each new day with fresh eyes. They may fall down, but they’ll get up, shake it off, and begin again. They enjoy being pushed on a swing, eating an ice cream cone, or listening to a parent read a story. Lots of lessons here.

I like a bit of bitterness in some of my foods (especially spring greens). I do not want bitterness to take hold within me. Bitterness sucks the life out of us. The antidote to bitterness is forgiveness and love. Both forgiveness and love breathe life into us.

- Pay attention to the protein package. Fish, poultry, nuts, and beans are the best choices.
- Choose foods with healthy fats, limit foods high in saturated fat, and avoid foods with trans fat. Plant oils, nuts, and fish are the healthiest sources.
- Choose a fiber-filled diet, rich in whole grains, vegetables, and fruits.
