✒️ Writers’ Wisdom ~ Writing as a Personal Experience

For me, writing is an experience. It’s an exercise in which I want to discover myself by taking my characters to the edges of human experience, to the edges of themselves and then, asking certain questions – about love, what does it mean to love? What’s beauty? What is true beauty?”

🤗 A Better Life ~ It is a Great Treasure

Loving someone fully, unconditionally, and being loved this way in return, is a great treasure, don’t lose it.

💡 Something to Think About

There are many different viewpoints. No single viewpoint holds all the truth. Imagine being in a room and seeing what is in front of you. You’ll need someone else’s view to describe what is behind you. Together, both people have a clearer view of the room. It is the same in life. Viewpoints compliment each other, if we dare look for areas where they border each other.

👊 Today’s Power Thought ~ What We Take In Makes a Big Difference

Our bodies respond to the kinds of foods we eat. We can change how our bodies respond by changing the foods we eat. Our minds respond to the types of knowledge we feed it. We can change how our minds respond by changing the types of information we feed it.

🌾 Today’s Poem ~ What Lips My Lips Have Kissed, And Where, And Why

What Lips My Lips Have Kissed, And Where, And Why (Sonnet XLIII)
Edna St. Vincent Millay
What lips my lips have kissed, and where, and why,
I have forgotten, and what arms have lain
Under my head till morning; but the rain
Is full of ghosts tonight, that tap and sigh
Upon the glass and listen for reply,
And in my heart there stirs a quiet pain
For unremembered lads that not again
Will turn to me at midnight with a cry.
Thus in winter stands the lonely tree,
Nor knows what birds have vanished one by one,
Yet knows its boughs more silent than before:
I cannot say what loves have come and gone,
I only know that summer sang in me
A little while, that in me sings no more.

Today’s Smile 😃

Joe: “My wife complained that our neighbor kisses his wife goodbye each morning but I don’t.”

Pete: “What did you say?”

Joe: “I asked her if she’d wanted me to kiss my neighbor’s wife before I went to work.”

Today’s Smile 😃

Joe: “After winning my game, I through my ball into the crowd like the pros do on TV.”

Pete: “How did it go over?”

Joe: “Not to well. Apparently, I shouldn’t have thrown my bowling ball into the crowd.”

🌾 Today’s Poem ~ I Like For You To Be Still

I Like For You To Be Still
Pablo Neruda
I like for you to be still
It is as though you are absent
And you hear me from far away
And my voice does not touch you
It seems as though your eyes had flown away
And it seems that a kiss had sealed your mouth
As all things are filled with my soul
You emerge from the things
Filled with my soul
You are like my soul
A butterfly of dream
And you are like the word: Melancholy

I like for you to be still
And you seem far away
It sounds as though you are lamenting
A butterfly cooing like a dove
And you hear me from far away
And my voice does not reach you
Let me come to be still in your silence
And let me talk to you with your silence
That is bright as a lamp
Simple, as a ring
You are like the night
With its stillness and constellations
Your silence is that of a star
As remote and candid

I like for you to be still
It is as though you are absent
Distant and full of sorrow
So you would’ve died
One word then, One smile is enough
And I’m happy;
Happy that it’s not true
